"Need"? - No! (echoing bittmann's comment.)

But since you have it, why not use it when it grows up a bit.  No sense throwing it out.

    Re: Pinnacle 14

I have gone to S14, wish I had not.  Since going to S14 NONE of the dvds made with menus will play on my dvd player.  Never had this problem with S12.  Think I will uninstall S14 and reinstall S12.

Contacted support, and they say it may be a problem with my dvd player..................then why is it they played when made with S12 ??????????

Sort it out Pin, else I will join the others going to another software pakage.

    Re: Pinnacle 14

I have ultimate collection (although I can't tell what is collective about it) but I can't find Toonit or Knoll Light factory. Am I just not looking in the right place?

    Thanks

    Re: Pinnacle 14

Has anyone actually used S14 to import a BluRay disc created from S12?  I'd like to believe BluRay disc can be used as input to re-editing.

    1.  Click on the video toolbox.

    2.  Click on the video effects icon.

    3.  Look for Red Giant Toonit. and Knoll.

(I forget whether you need to install these plug-ins separately.  If you do, make sure that you installed them.)

    Re: Pinnacle 14

OP, make sure that the enhancements in V14 are compelling enough to make the upgrade worthwhile.  Upgrading or changing any software carries costs (price and time), and risks (bugs, etc.).  Outside of cartooning (it sounds like this can be accomplished with v12), you haven't mentioned any features or functionality that you're looking to gain.

V14 hasn't been out that long, you may want to wait for a patch release, and see how well that's received.

    Good Luck!

    Re: Pinnacle 14

Well I had Studio 12 ultimate That gave me the plugins for (BorisFX,Magic Bullet,ProDad)

When I upgraded to Studio 14 ultimate It gave me the Red Giant Plugins for light or lens flare effect, which is cool & Toonit which turns your video into moving cartoons, which is also cool.  The only plugin transfered over from 12 was ProDaD? (I don't know why BorisFX or Magic Bullet was not)

Studio 14 does give you a better Image Stabilizer and a slightly diffrent facelift to the application, however not a real big deal, does look more professional though.

It also allows you to have another montage over a "already active montage" this gives you a limited layer effect, which is also cool. (to bad it is only for montages)

They should of added another audio & video track or made it unlimited

They also added a feature for the titles called (motion titles) which is cool, but would be better if they gave you more control over it.

Studio 14 Ultimate Collection might give you more.

to be honest with you I am disapointed in the upgrade.  Should of went with a Sony Vegas 9 Pro or upgraded my version of 12 to Avid Liquid 7

if Studio 12 crashed alot, 14 will be the same...but thankfully they auto save your work.Smile

Studio 12 worked awesome for me, on the other hand 14 will not play the video if I add a menu to it, if I take it out, reburn the DVD, it will play fine, studio 12 had no problem, 14 has a bug in it.

Same here, I'm getting fed up trying, wish they would bring out a fix for this.
