    mmyers:
Then the question stands. AVCHD is Liquid's bête noire. With a solution it has a second life. Without? Well..........................not good.

yes this is what im hearing too.  most everyone i know has or is switching to solid state to opt out of tape and time thus reducing staff and archiving on external HDD for temporary or to a BRD that holds about 25gbs for longer term archive or even 50gb now that brd's are down under $4 each.

for us it's been a marked improvement but i miss the running speed of liquid by comparison to my slower paced learning curve of final cut . . although i must say i am getting faster and now that i learned i don't have to render to export a project to dvd studio pro but just import the project file into it . . this will cut my render time by 2/3's . . dummy me.  just like liquid and media composer (and probably all nle's) there are at least two to four different ways to do everything depending on what tricks one's trigger huh?
