Thanks for the update. I'm still waiting on QA for updates about this at the moment. Thanks for bearing with me.

Re: BSOD When trying to capture video in Studio 12

Does anyone have a solution for this issue? I've got the same problem here.

BSOD on Pinnacle Movieboard+ (PCI). Capturing Analog video results in lock up or BSOD. I have Vista Home Premium 64 bits with 8GB of memory.
Cannot try to lower memory ( have 4x2GB modules, need at least 2 ).

This could be fixed I guess by now?

Unfortunately, no breakthroughs yet for this. I'm sure you could run your system with 1x 4Gb chip (for testing purposes).

Re: BSOD When trying to capture video in Studio 12

exact same problem with the movieboard pci700

    4 gigs ram

vista 64 (just upgraded, worked fine with 32)

blue screen says something abuot bender64.sys and the irqs.

does pinnacle intend on doing something about this?  it seems this issue has dragged on since january and not results.  i am not going to pull the ram to 2gigs to test as the others have said this fixes it.

btw, i have deleted everything including drivers, reinstalled app, and no better.  i am done....

     thanks

Hey, its me again.  Im with pitboy on this one.  Im about finished with this and I think that you are just stalling hoping everyone will just buy PStu 14 or that every one will upgrade to Win 7 and forget about this. Im also guessing that Pinnacle will just quit supporting this device alltogehter and not provide Win7 drivers.

I wish someone would "really" look into this.

I'm sorry if you also feel that way. I wish there was more information that I can relay at the time. Your comments are duly noted.

Re: BSOD When trying to capture video in Studio 12

BTW:  Im not angry at you at all,  your the only person who has actually looked into this for us.  This problem is probably not going away until they release a fix, and I just feel that this needs to happen not because of just me but you see, new computers consumers can buy now straight off the market with more than 4 gigs of ram already with a 64 bit OS.  This will affect alot of people who want to move this product to their new system.  I like this product alot but hate that I have to perform a labotomy (memory removal) on my PC everytime I need it.  Its either that or dust off my not as effective Dazzle USB.

    Thanks

Somehow I dont think that simply moving to PS v14 will solve this issue as its the driver for the pci700.  This driver crashes even when trying to capture using the windows movie maker capture and any other software that captures the video.  You may not get the BSOD but you will most likely hang and not be able to recover until you manually power off the PC.

Re: BSOD When trying to capture video in Studio 12

can you promise me that if i install this that it wont kill my version 12.  i refuse to resinsall this software again. it takes me hours to reinstall the app, addons etc.  I thought the problem was with the bender driver and not the app.  plus if this works, are we going to have to buy v14???

right now, i have installed the software on a 32 bit vista machine for capturing and i edit on my 64 bit.  this seems to work but there are still small bugs that require me to reset every few hours.

Re: BSOD When trying to capture video in Studio 12

I would suggest you purchase a copy of Acronis True Image. You can make an image backup of your HD, then do the install. If something isn't right you can restore the previous image and you're back where you were before the install. I think True Image is $39. I have been using Norton Ghost, a similar program, for several years and wouldn't be without it. On one occasion, my HD went bad, I replaced it with a new one, restored the image backup and was up an running, just as before except with a new drive.

I really quote this. Damn, it's passed one year since i've bought the PCI-700 and still now I can't use it! Crash after crash, the same BSOD with bender64.sys error, ever when a try to capture something! With any acquisition application (Studio 12, VirtualDub, Movie Maker...).
Shameful... I want a fix! By now it's obvius that the problem reside in the driver!

(Sorry if my english is bad, I'm italian)

Re: BSOD When trying to capture video in Studio 12

After so many weeks I found my way back to this thread because I'm also affected with this problem.

    32-bit OS -> no troubles

64-bit OS -> only running after I have reduced to 2GB RAM

At the end I have ripped of this card. First I really appreciate the efforts of Marc P. who had taken care for this problem.

Unfortunately Pinacle support failed all the way in doing this!!!!  Please forgive me - not recommendable and shame on such an unskilled support.

They said '...everything is okay with your video card! Your PC must be damaged. All the best to you and good luck with your card.....'

Man! I was really upset! I have checked (memtest) and changed part of my hardware (Nonsense! Because this PC was rather new and configured by DELL. All other applications are running fine).

I'd never suggest in buying the upgrade! I did it in the past (Here from 11 to 12) with no success. Its like mentioned - the driver is the main problem not the software.

Re: BSOD When trying to capture video in Studio 12

    After one long year...

WE WANT A DRIVER THAT NOT CRASH ANYMORE

I can't believe that for a driver re-building is really necessary so long time...

    EDIT:

    Marc P.:
Thanks I'll let you know if we will need anything else. At this point I'll be waiting for feedback from QA.

And... after ONE YEAR WHAT IS THE QA's answer???

Have they founded what causes the problem? Are they saerching for a solution? When can we'll have a decent driver to use the PCI-700? Damn, if i've bought this, it's because i need to use it, not for decor. Now I'm really tired to waiting, i want this driver, Pinnacle has had all the time necessary to re-build a new working driver... This thread is open from January! And any solution founded yet...
