BV, thank you for that info... Hopefully Scott will feel well enough about the situation to return and to contribute his technicial skills when he feels the need, we are a diverse group of people bound by our years with Liquid. Sometimes we get on each others nerves a bit, but the lure of our time editing draws us together.

Man, I go out to wash the car, and look what happens...

Guys, lets wipe this thread clean and start over...

Yes John I went and washed my truck and also came back to this. But I don't think "clean and start over" will fix this situation, it's been brewing for a long time. To bad Pinnacle decided to handle it this way.

Good luck and see you on the other side Scott.

    Scott and Bvregile,

I suspect maybe there is a communication gap here and that you guys take it to a private discussion and that you delete the posts that lead to this. I don't think the complete thread should be deleted and anyone who is interested in taking part in the separate liquid blog should do this and of course hopefully continue to participate here as well. I know having an outside forum to discuss Liquid and Studio has been a hit just with the video friends forum where we discuss Liquid and Studio amongst friends without some of the red tape per say.

Re: Any interest in an independent Liquid discussion site?

Thanks, guys.  I've known who my friends are for a very long time.  I may stop in here now and then but don't count too much on it.  I'm so tired of all this that I won't miss it at all.  Will I miss some of the people?  Of course.  Will I miss the in-fighting?  Not one bit.

There's Skype and the blog if you want to get in touch.  And those of you who are beta testers will see me around.

I'm hearing from other users already that they see the Liquid forum disintegrating.  That's what I was trying to prevent since we were forced to move here.  Good luck to those who stay and continue trying to prevent it.  My goal is to keep on supplying what resources and help I can for the Liquid users who need it, wherever I'm able.

    bvregille:

    Dun4cheap,

I didn't tell that Scott was not able to build his own blog/forum.  I was just concerned by the fact that he started this thread without informing us of his decision. I wrote Scott that I was not against it bu that Pinnacle could not support him.

And then the situation became out of control by Scott making this public. I didn't disable Scott's moderator role due to his decision of building his own blog. I did it because he published a private discussion (which was just starting). Thsi is something I would not accept from any moderator, regardless if he is a Pinnacle employee or an external moderator.

I"m also sorry of getting such a bad event on our forum, but I don't really see how to avoid it. To be honest, I also first set Scott's account to be moderated, but I removed it immediately, as I dont think it's fair, as I always try to promote the fact that our forums is an open community (with normal limitations) and Scott also has the right to explain his decision.

Some of you might think that we did not treat Scott correctly and will go away or will comment. Some will feel that we did the right choice and will stay, or will just not comment on it, as they are more interested in getting infformation and help on Liquid than by such stupid story.

Just sad to see that we will loose Scott's knowledge and that's bad for Liquid users. But there are decisions to be taken and I did it. Not fun for a sunday evening.

    Ed and other users,

I published no private discussion earlier as anyone can plainly see and I did not falsely characterize the contents of the email I got, regardless of how Bertrand spins it.  I stated in general terms one or two points without giving any names and without divulging the entire contents of the message.  That is not "publish[ing] a private discussion" no matter what Bertrand says.  This is what I've been putting up with since the move here and I'm so glad I have no more reason to put up with it.

Removing my moderator role wasn't a great idea since at least while I was a mod I had some small force within me holding back. As a moderator, I did hold back a lot when posting on the forum.  Now, as a user like everyone else, I guess I no longer have to hold back.  You know how some users have been allowed before to go on for months disrupting things without any consequences while we here on the Liquid forum have had to just take it?

Don't worry, I won't start disrupting things like some have but I am making a very important point.  Now, I have no reason to hold back but I don't want to press this further.  The facts are out for those who want to know them.  I want no more to do with this place other than the beta forum.  That area is still run professionally and people there aren't allowed to be abusive to each other or to post false information without consequences, thank God.

Re: Any interest in an independent Liquid discussion site?

    Scott Myers:

I didn't mention any names, I just said there was an email from Pinnacle which seemed to indicate some confusion.  Now, the cat's out of the bag so I'll mention the name.

Bertrand seemed in his email to think that I wasn't clear in this thread so I made sure there could be no mistake about what I meant.  When Studio users made public a private discussion I had (complete with the names of the participants), they were not reprimanded.  There is a huge difference in how the Liquid forum, the Liquid users, and the Liquid mods are treated relative to the other forums, users and mods.  That's the pity.

If this is the way it will be, then I resign as a moderator.  I refuse to go on putting up with the treatment Pinnacle seems to think is appropriate for the Liquid users.  When we were about to move here, I had already decided not to continue as a mod but I was talked into staying by my friends.  It has not been a pleasant experience here from the start and I won't miss this place.  I might miss some of my friends but many of them have already joined the blog, so there's no problem there.

Bertrand has never once given me a "Thank You" for all the hard work I've done to make this a more pleasant and helpful place.  This is my "reward" for giving so much of my time and experience.  I'm not sure he has thanked any of the Liquid mods for all their hard work and for their putting up with all the nonsense here.

Bertrand has stood in my way at every step when trying to make this forum better for Liquid users.  It's still the same.

There will be some people here and on the Studio forums who'll think they've won because I won't be a moderator.  Nope, they haven't won a thing but I've won a hell of a lot of peace of mind knowing that I always did and will always do what's right for the Liquid users.

I'm sorry but this statement is just plain childish.

Bertrand does not represent "Bertrand" but rather Pinnacle and Pinnacle was trying to tell you that you were over stepping the boundaries and you wouldn't listen. So live with the decision that YOU made  and stop handing blame off to the rest of the world.

Re: Any interest in an independent Liquid discussion site?

They're coming out from under the rocks now that I'm not a mod, just as I knew they would.  It's sad that Pinnacle (or whoever might be speaking for Pinnacle) thinks that's a good thing.  Again, I'm glad I have no obligation to deal with it anymore.

Liquid users who'd like to join the blog and not be bothered with troublemakers like this should contact me via PM or via Skype.  Troublemakers need not apply.

Here's something fun to take the edge off all this.  Go to this link, then browse through page after page of posts to find any that aren't in a "General" forum.  The goal is to find just one post specifically about any Pinnacle product if you can.  I have found this game quite fun in the past.  It will keep you on your toes.  Enjoy.

Not sure I understand this. Why would "they" come out from under the rocks, and who is "they"?

I mean my comment certainly wouldn't have annnnything with the rather adult comment you left for Bertrand and Pinnacle. Wink You bare no responsibility in this at all. You're just an innocent pawn, right? I'm also not quite sure why you consider it so wrong for me to post only in the general forum. Is there a rule on this some where that I am breaking, or is this a round about way of attempting to discredit? Why would you want to "keep me on my toes"? Do I mean that much to you?
