bvregille:Dun4cheap,
I didn't tell that Scott was not able to build his own blog/forum. I was just concerned by the fact that he started this thread without informing us of his decision. I wrote Scott that I was not against it bu that Pinnacle could not support him.
And then the situation became out of control by Scott making this public. I didn't disable Scott's moderator role due to his decision of building his own blog. I did it because he published a private discussion (which was just starting). Thsi is something I would not accept from any moderator, regardless if he is a Pinnacle employee or an external moderator.
I"m also sorry of getting such a bad event on our forum, but I don't really see how to avoid it. To be honest, I also first set Scott's account to be moderated, but I removed it immediately, as I dont think it's fair, as I always try to promote the fact that our forums is an open community (with normal limitations) and Scott also has the right to explain his decision.
Some of you might think that we did not treat Scott correctly and will go away or will comment. Some will feel that we did the right choice and will stay, or will just not comment on it, as they are more interested in getting infformation and help on Liquid than by such stupid story.
Just sad to see that we will loose Scott's knowledge and that's bad for Liquid users. But there are decisions to be taken and I did it. Not fun for a sunday evening.
Ed and other users,
I published no private discussion earlier as anyone can plainly see and I did not falsely characterize the contents of the email I got, regardless of how Bertrand spins it. I stated in general terms one or two points without giving any names and without divulging the entire contents of the message. That is not "publish[ing] a private discussion" no matter what Bertrand says. This is what I've been putting up with since the move here and I'm so glad I have no more reason to put up with it.
Removing my moderator role wasn't a great idea since at least while I was a mod I had some small force within me holding back. As a moderator, I did hold back a lot when posting on the forum. Now, as a user like everyone else, I guess I no longer have to hold back. You know how some users have been allowed before to go on for months disrupting things without any consequences while we here on the Liquid forum have had to just take it?
Don't worry, I won't start disrupting things like some have but I am making a very important point. Now, I have no reason to hold back but I don't want to press this further. The facts are out for those who want to know them. I want no more to do with this place other than the beta forum. That area is still run professionally and people there aren't allowed to be abusive to each other or to post false information without consequences, thank God.
