    OpenMG Secure Module

After reinstalling Studio 11 Ultimate today, and during the latter stage of installing the Bonus Disk, I get a message that "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that that is unavailable" Then there is a box below titled Use Source that says: "c:\docume~1\Dave\Locals~1\Temp\sonicext.tmp\omgsetup\OpenMGSecuremodule.msi" If I click OK, I get a window titled OpenMG Secure Module with the message that the path cannot be found.... I click OK and get error message 1706: No valid source could be found.... Then it is very difficult to get out of that loop.  When I eventually do get out, the program seems to run OK. I have searched for the file and not found it. However, when I go to Add/Remove Programs, OpenMG Secure Module 4.3.00 is there along with OpenMG Limited Patch 4.3-05-10-05-01. How do I correct this mess?

    Re: OpenMG Secure Module

OpenMG, I thought, was something to do with the Sony ATRAC3 audio format.  I didn't think that Studio did anything with that audio format, so I'm *thinking* that this may be a result of something on your system that's insisting upon trying to invoke this OpenMG thingy when other programs act like they might want to reference some audio media.  Maybe.

You ever have anything by Sony (e.g. SonicStage, or a jukebox program, or whatever) installed on that machine?

    Re: OpenMG Secure Module

Don't have any such programs that I know of. Yet the OpenMG program is on there, so it must have come from somewhere. A long time ago I had a program called Connect, which I think was a Sony music download product that has since been discontinued. S'pose I should uninstall both OpenMG programs? Are we sure Studio doesn't need it?

    Re: OpenMG Secure Module

Well, I don't have any "openmg.exe" files on my computer, and I am able to run Studio, so...I'm pretty sure it's not needed by anything Pinnacle.

Whether or not it's needed by something else on your computer?  No idea, here...

    Re: OpenMG Secure Module

I can confirm that Connect (which went out of business just about 1 month ago) is a Sony product and does include OpenMG. I would also agree with Bittmann (how can I not? Angel) in his assessment of Studio not using it.

    Re: OpenMG Secure Module

Thanks everybody.  I'll remove OpenMG and see what happens.

    Re: OpenMG Secure Module

Im having the same exact issue.  After I install disk 1 Studio Plus, re-start my computer I get this error in a pop up box:  The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Click Okay to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'PhotoGallery.msi' in the box below.

    C:\SWSETUP\HPhotoST\setup\PhotoGallery\

Did you ever get an answer or find any help?  I'm stuck!

    Thanks
