    No new updates?

Haven't heard anything for a while? Are you guys working on things to surprise us for Christmas?

Thanks. Any hints as to when, and what we might expect?

I cannot really comment, but it's likely that you'll see some new content in the app...

    Re: No new updates?

Please fix that first moving title (fade in and out) so that we can change the color. After that, slow- mo would be nice!

     Thanks for your work...

    Re: No new updates?

    Hi,
I just wanted to add my must have updates to see if any of these will find its way into the new Pinnacle update. Crossing my fingers.
    Must have features:
    1) I really, really need slow-mo added to this app. I have been asking for Slow-mo for a long time now. I download an app called DispRecorder. This app records the screen and screen inputs made by me the user. Essentially I could use this app to do slow-mo by capturing and recording the Pinnacle screen. In order to do this I would need Pinnacle to be able to output full widescreen with no progress/information bars at the top or bottom of the screen. In full screen mode. Also I would need to be able to swipe my finger left and to the right to advance the video forward and backward. Similar to how one can do this on the timeline already.
    2) In full screen mode this app needs to output to full widescreen when streaming to my HDTV for previewing my videos without the program bars at the top and bottom of the screen. Or better yet allow one tap of the finger to make the information program bar go away.
    3) a scroll wheel instead of a slider bar implemented in full screen mode. Try out the "Coach's Eye" app to see just how easy this feature is to use. Or if I could just swipe my finger left and right to advance or rewind the video one fram at a time. I can swipe left and right on the timeline view to advance the video. This works very well. I would like something like this added to the full screen view. The slider bard in full screen view is just to course of a way to advance the video one frame at a time and really is frustrating to use.
    4) Pinnacle Studio can add a default transition to every clip as I import clips into the timeline. This is a Great time saver!! I love it! Please, Please add a similar option so I can set the "Fit to size" and the "volume" amount settings once and also have those setting added to every clip as I import clips into the timeline. I am sure a lot of us output our videos in the Widescreen format. Not 4x3. The iPad has the built-in ability to zoom/crop a video to 4x3. So why would one want to creat a video in the 4x3 format. Also needed is to do the above for photos that I import so I can set the program to import a photo in the fit to screen size.  So right now as is, I have to go through every clip and change the setting to Widescreen or fit to screen size. This is time consuming and a waist of my precious time that could be spent editing and creating. Also I usually increase the volume of every clip in my project so this is also time consuming.

Hopefully it will be more than fixes......I had hoped the transition to Pinnacle would breathe new life into this promising app, but instead it seems to have sucked the life out of it.

Well, it has seemed pretty quiet, but let's try to be positive and give these guys a chance - they've come through with some great improvements in the app, and hopefully will continue to do so.

    Happy New Year!

Well still no update... so maybe we are asking the wrong question ... so how about

"Has anything been submitted to Apple recently?"

Surely they could tell us an answer to that?

     Great product though

Very quiet here. It would be nice if someone gave us an idea if there is anything in the works and a vague idea of release...

    Re: No new updates?

Looks like there could be a newcomer app in the field called Touchedit. Hasn't been released yet but has a web site up. Seems to be pro oriented and maybe $50. Apparently intended to be an iPad i.e. "touch" friendly interface but uses a reel to reel film editing analogy which looks a bit dated, and perhaps not intuitive coming from something like PS. Remains to be seen I guess

They have some video tutorials here:

Maybe this competition will get Avid/Pinnacle app moving again with an update?

    Re: No new updates?

I looked at those tutorials. This app looks confusing and at $50 definitely overpriced. Though I do appreciate the XML export for fcp, and file names.

Touchedit might be a viable alternative if this app remains dead in the water

     Stll hoping for an update

I cannot really comment, but it's likely that you'll see some new content in the app...

Why does this comment neglect to fill me with the utmost in optimism?

happy birthday for tomorrow! Failing an update you could check out a new editor called cute cut. There's a free version to try. It seems to do most stuff and some extra like drawing on your movie. And perhaps being new the author will be keen to update!

    Hi Mark

had a look at cute cut and it looks promising

I liked the fact that you could rotate the video image

maybe a strong contender soon now this app seems dead in the water

Touchedit has come down in price ... I may be tempted ... soon

Will stick with Pinnacle ... for now Snail

ok I admit I couldn't resist trying touchedit. Possibly the price reduction is a ploy and they will put it back up again. They seem to be pushing the pro movie making image and a steep price fits!

Meanwhile despite the price it is still buggy. The importing facility is painfully slow. Editing is ok, potentially more accurate, but the interface is not very intuitive coming from PS. At present there are no titles or transitions, just basic editing. Their forum suggests these things will be included next month!

So maybe you should buy it in case they put the price up again. On the other hand maybe you should wait til they've sorted it. And Corel, if you exist, it's very sad that we aren't talking about your app.
